Chilaxing

One of my high school friends made up a word back in 10th or 11th grade.
"Chilaxing"

It is simply a mix up of relaxing and chilling

but I love the word, I like to chilax.

Anyway for this week's assignment,
I believe we are supposed to talk about past experiences with relaxation exercises.
To be honest, I don't really have much.
Because I assume when we say "relaxation exercises", we are referring to exercises that are relaxing.

Ever since I was a kid, I was all about sports.
I played soccer, basketball, and did some track and field.
I focused on pushing myself rather than cherishing it.
Thankfully, my mental strength is pretty high
but I didn't get to do anything like yoga and zen during my childhood.
I really wish I have though
A few months ago, one of my buddies got a exercise program online called "P90X".
It was a pretty typical exercise program focusing on core work outs.
I'm not saying that it was bad. I'm just saying that it was typical.
Anyway, one of the exercise was yoga
and my friends and I tried it first time in our lives.

And oh my goodness! that was one of the best work outs I have ever done in my life.
I'm not the most flexible guy in the world, so it was very challenging.
Also, even though I did it with my friends, it was basically against me vs me.
The self challenge thing was awesome.
I really wish I had done it when I was playing basketball intensely.
it would've helped me quite a bit.

Oh well, anyway this was my only experience with the exercise

  1. Hi Hiro, How do you feel after doing yoga? I do a little yoga as part of my routine at the gym & try to put a little mediation into my stretching. It seems to work as people tell me I'm a lot calmer lately. When something really irksome happened to me recently, a really close friend told me that I can't believe you're handling this well. How did you feel after completing the relaxation exercise on line? See you in class, Adrienne

  2. Hiro - I have P90X and was doing it last year right when I found out I was pregnant and I have to say both my husband and I hated the yoga! It didnt seem relaxing at all because we had to do a zillion sun salutations. Have you done the stretch dvd? That one was much more enjoyable and boy, did it make us limber.
    Anyway...I love chilaxing! :)
